Salary: $73,500.00 to $78,000.00 plus superannuation per annum

About the Role:

Our client, a leading manufacturer of structural steel and stainless-steel projects, is seeking an experienced full-time Welder / Fabricator to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
* Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock
* Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines
* Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
* Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
* Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting
* Examining welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision
* Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, bathing in acidic solutions
* Cleaning and smoothing welds by chiselling and grinding

Requirements:

* Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
* The successful candidate will be highly experienced with at least 2 years' experience
* Able to do TIG / MIG work
* Experience manufacturing structural steel fabrications
* Ability to read technical drawings
* Other trade licenses will be advantageous
* Day and afternoon shifts are available
* A liking for overtime would be advantageous
