Maintenance Fitter Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our Feedlot Maintenance Team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position forms part of a small team responsible for maintaining equipment and infrastructure within the feedlot.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring maximum equipment uptime through effective and efficient maintenance practices
  • Performing general welding and fabrication duties
  • Engaging in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments and appliances
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols
  • Supporting other projects as needed

About You

  • Minimum 2 years post-trade experience
  • Previous welding and fabrication experience is preferred
  • Experience with various welding techniques including S/S Tig, Mig, Stick, Oxy is advantageous
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience in maintenance/repair within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify faults and troubleshoot problems
  • Effective fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Strong understanding of maintenance management practices
  • Knowledge of work planning and scheduling procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of WHS regulations/procedures
  • Confined Space and BA Competence is highly desirable
