Making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people, and foster families is at the heart of this pivotal position.

This is not your average clinical role. It's an opportunity to bring your therapeutic knowledge into practice, guiding and shaping the care of vulnerable children in our community.

You will work collaboratively with passionate case managers, carer development staff, and other clinical specialists to provide trauma-informed consultation, intervention, and support that empowers carers and uplifts young people.

  • Provide trauma-informed consultation, intervention, and support to empower carers and uplift young people.
  • Facilitate reflective practice with care teams to enhance their skills and confidence.
  • Support secure attachment between carers and children through targeted interventions.
  • Consult on complex case planning to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline.
  • Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a higher degree in psychology at master's level (preferred).
  • Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent, and family clinical practice, family therapy, and systemic thinking (strongly preferred).
