About the Role
Mental health professionals play a vital role in supporting individuals and families to build resilience and thrive.
Key responsibilities of this position include assessing and addressing the mental health needs of clients and their families, providing case management services to support clients effectively, delivering culturally sensitive programs and services to promote social and emotional wellbeing among Aboriginal people, increasing accessibility of mental health services within the local community, empowering the local community to take charge of their health and family wellbeing, and fostering relationships with mainstream health providers to enhance mental health service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working in the mental health sector and/or an appropriate formal qualification in the field of health/social or behavioural sciences
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with established local community connections
- Experience in goal setting, connecting individuals and families with the right people, support services and opportunities to meet their needs
- Ability to cultivate effective relationships with peers and clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork and the delivery of comprehensive community services
