The principal is a senior educational leader responsible for overseeing the management and development of a school. This involves ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive education program to all students, as well as being executive officer of the school council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing educational strategies to improve student outcomes
  • Managing financial systems and resources to support school operations
  • Representing the Department in the school and local community
  • Contributing to system-wide activities, including policy and strategic planning and development
  • Ensuring the school is a child-safe environment and adheres to departmental values

As an experienced educator, you will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and the wider community.

Eligibility for employment as a principal requires registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and completion of the LANTITE requirement or holding provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
