Role Overview

The Mental Health Clinician provides critical services for individuals with severe mental illness residing in the Inner South-eastern area of Melbourne.

Working across CATT, Triage and EPS teams in the Alfred Emergency Department, this role plays a vital part in supporting clients with early discharge management, assessment, and management of newly referred clients.

  • Early Discharge Management: The team works to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home-based care, minimizing the risk of relapse and promoting optimal health outcomes.
  • Client Assessment: Comprehensive assessments are conducted to identify client needs and develop personalized plans for treatment and support.
  • Management of Newly Referred Clients: Experienced clinicians work closely with clients to address complex mental health issues, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout their recovery journey.

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in a relevant field, or;
  • Alternative qualifications in social work, nursing, or occupational therapy, coupled with significant industry experience.
