Job Description:

Jacobs is seeking a dynamic consultant to develop and execute growth strategies for the Asia Pacific region. The successful candidate will leverage technical expertise and commercial acumen to lead client projects, foster innovation in the energy transition landscape, and make a lasting impact.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing commercial proposals focused on the energy transition across the Asia Pacific region. You will identify, secure, and deliver strategic advisory projects in the energy markets space and energy transition services.

You will collaborate with engineers, economists, and data analysts to solve techno-economic challenges in the future power sector. Conducting technical and market due diligence assignments, bridging technical teams with economic modelling experts, will be another critical aspect of your role. Additionally, you will undertake policy studies and apply economic theory to energy markets, providing technical expertise in areas such as market studies, cost-benefit analysis, and energy policy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A relevant tertiary degree in economics, mathematics, statistics/data science, operations research, or engineering.
  • Proven experience in energy market advisory roles, ideally in a consulting environment.
  • Strong quantitative modelling skills and research abilities.
  • Expertise in energy/regulatory frameworks applicable to power generation and distribution.
  • Deep understanding of power plant technologies (wind, solar, battery, gas turbine), including performance parameters and cost structures.
  • Knowledge of related industries and technologies such as natural gas, liquid/low carbon fuels, and electricity transmission (advantageous).
  • Fosters positive communication, articulates complex problems, uses sound commercial acumen to enable a solution-focused approach.
