Fire Safety Engineer Role Overview

This position is ideal for senior engineers or individuals close to achieving that milestone in their career.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in fire engineering, from first principles to leading large-scale projects from concept stage through to building occupation.
  • Manage project and client relationships across various markets.
  • Develop performance-based strategies for a wide range of buildings and infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor team members in their development, facilitate opportunities that build competency, and assist with professional accreditation where appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Fire Safety Engineer.
  • A relevant Engineering qualification (preferably in Fire Engineering) alongside a thorough understanding of the Building Code of Australia and the Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines.
  • A record of leading fire engineering projects and negotiating with approval authorities to gain acceptance of performance-based design.
  • Prior experience in preparing Performance Based Design Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports and Fire Engineering Strategies.
