About Our Role

As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious meals that meet the needs of residents in our care facilities. You will work under the guidance of the chef supervisor to ensure all meals are prepared in line with food safety standards, while also supporting special dietary requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality meals that are nourishing and enjoyable for residents.
  • Support the delivery of special dietary requirements as advised by health professionals.
  • Assist with ordering and managing stock supplies.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety programs and safe work practices.
  • Contribute to a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with catering staff to achieve excellence in food services.
Key Qualifications
  • Completion of a food handling course is essential.
  • A relevant certificate (for example, Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery) is required.
  • A current national police certificate is necessary (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen practices is vital.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Experience in aged care or hospitality is highly regarded.
