About John Holland

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sustainability Advisor to join our team in Canterbury, NSW. Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sustainability principles and their application within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and expertise in site sustainability management
  • Implement and monitor sustainability strategies, including the sustainability management plan
  • Provide expert advice to project teams on sustainability requirements and targets
  • Coordinate and provide specialist sustainability management support to internal and project stakeholders
  • Develop and implement site-specific sustainability documents, processes, and regulatory compliance applications
  • Consult with other teams to identify opportunities for efficiencies and streamlining of sustainability processes and outcomes
  • Investigate and determine key innovations applicable to the project and oversee their implementation and approval
  • Monitor system and process audits to ensure compliance with sustainability standards and requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Science, Engineering, or other associated disciplines
  • 5+ years' experience in the Sustainability field, with experience in the construction industry desirable but not essential
  • Sound understanding of sustainability principles and application within the construction industry, including Sustainability Rating Schemes such as Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) Green Star, NABERS, and WELL
  • Understanding of sustainability management techniques, National Construction Code compliance, project approval processes, and requirements
  • Understanding of Federal, State, and Local sustainability statutes and legislation
  • Passion and drive for driving sustainability in the construction industry
