Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

As a key member of the leadership team, we are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial operations and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive financial strategies in collaboration with senior management to achieve long-term and short-term objectives.
  • Review and approve operating budgets and conduct regular financial reviews to monitor performance.
  • Forecast financial results and gross margin on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Provide in-depth expense and gross margin analysis and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting practices across all areas, adhering to corporate policies and legal requirements.
  • Participate in operating review meetings, providing strategic direction and decision-making support as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop and train staff on margin management, sales, markdowns, shrink, and discounts.
  • Execute decisions based on Sarbanes-Oxley's impact on internal controls.
  • Implement risk management and loss prevention strategies to minimize company exposure.
  • Oversee all aspects of finance, including payroll, payroll accounting, general ledger, tax, and statutory accounting.
  • Provide specific direction and leadership to the finance team.
  • Ensure that all members of management under their direction are aware of corporate objectives and perform their functions to accomplish these objectives.
Requirements:
  • Experience serving in senior management positions, preferably with a strong retail background, knowledge of finance, store operations, and merchandising procedures.
  • Proven professional experience in finance, including accounting, payroll, general ledger, tax, and risk management.
  • Strong financial analysis ability with a track record for expense control and meeting budget targets.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and Australian financial regulatory requirements.
  • Prior experience in expense control, meeting budgets, working with public companies, and sound knowledge of fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Ability to attract and surround oneself with high-caliber people.
  • Strong supervisory, delegation, organizational, and communication skills.
