Join the City of Mandurah's team of professionals in the Built and Natural Environment department as an Irrigation Technician. This is a temporary full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects and develop your skills in irrigation installation, maintenance, and repair.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake maintenance of the City's Parks, Gardens, and Ovals irrigation systems in an efficient and effective manner.
- Supervise minor irrigation works projects, including the work of others.
- Participate in the overall development and improvement of activities within the Section.
- Support the City's water conservation objectives.
- Ensure Occupational Safety and Health requirements are observed and adhered to.
- Provide high-level customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ensure corporate responsibilities are observed and adhered to.
- A Certificate III in Irrigation.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in irrigation installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and domestic reticulation systems.
- Current unrestricted 'MR' (Medium Rigid) class national driver's license.
- Knowledge of centralised computer irrigation systems.
- Previous experience in a parks and gardens environment.
- Practical experience with hand and precision tools and minor plant.
- Sound calculation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, plans, and diagrams.
- Knowledge of artesian bores and the operation of pumps and relative equipment.
- Basic design knowledge and quantity estimating.
- Work limited supervision.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A salary range of pro-rata $70,252 - $72,759 gross per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
