We are seeking a highly skilled Public Sector Communications Specialist to lead our organisation's communications efforts.

About the Role

  • Manage content creation across digital platforms, newsletters, media releases, and industry reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications Planning

Plan, develop, and deliver strategic communications initiatives to elevate our organisation's profile and build stakeholder engagement.

Content Creation and Management

Create engaging content for various audiences, including digital platforms, newsletters, media releases, and industry reports.

Media Relations and Stakeholder Engagement

Foster strong relationships with media outlets and key stakeholders to secure media coverage and promote our organisation's work.

Event Support and Member Engagement

Provide communications support for major events and member engagement initiatives, ensuring effective promotion and stakeholder engagement.

Trend Monitoring and Media Opportunities

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and identify proactive media opportunities to inform our communications strategy.

About You:

  • Proven experience in public sector communications, preferably in government or peak body organisations.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills across multiple formats.
  • Understanding of policy communications and/or government relations is highly desirable.
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, media, and decision-makers.
