Senior Data Engineer Contract Opportunity

Lime Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis, with the possibility of extension. This role is based in the Brisbane CBD and offers the flexibility to work from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy the next generation of our data lake using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Prove concept and value for pipeline patterns on new data types and sources, driving innovation in data ingestion.
  • Utilize the latest available technologies to manage and scale data, ensuring flexibility and reliability.
  • Engineer systems to manage big data compute tasks, optimizing performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline operational failures, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement platform monitoring, robustness, and self-healing, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Requirements:

  • Experience with databases, including cloud databases, relational databases, and NoSQL databases (e.g., Databricks, Redshift, Postgres, SQL Server, MongoDB).
  • Proficiency in building and creating data pipelines using Python and SQL, preferably with Databricks Delta Live Tables or similar.
  • Experience with data streaming products such as Kafka, Kinesis, and other related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Git and cloud platform deployment, with a preference for AWS.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data, and Design.
  • Experience with data DevOps/data-as-code design and implementation, ensuring best-in-class processes and techniques.
