Pharmacy Service Management Role

This is a permanent full-time position for a well-established pharmaceutical chain with a rich 43-year history of delivering pharmaceutical assistance and beauty solutions to the Australian public.

The successful candidate will have experience as a Pharmacy Service Manager, Pharmacist, or Senior Pharmacist, with excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and a strong sense of initiative and attention to detail.

The role involves supervising pharmacy staff, assigning duties, and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel.
  • Assign duties and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet patient needs.
  • Monitor the quality and efficiency of pharmaceutical services provided to patients.
  • Address any patient concerns or inquiries, especially those related to medications.
  • Oversee inventory control, ensuring that medications are well-stocked, organised, and within expiration dates.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to order pharmaceuticals and supplies as needed.
  • Implement and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct periodic quality assessments and audits.
  • Manage medication error reporting and investigation processes.
  • Implement strategies to reduce medication errors and improve patient safety.
  • Manage the pharmacy's budget, including tracking expenses and revenue.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue-enhancing initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities for pharmacy staff.
  • Perform employee evaluations and address performance issues.

Requirements:

  • Past experience as a Pharmacy Service Manager.
  • Past experience as a Pharmacist or Senior Pharmacist.
  • Past experience as a retail manager.
  • Past experience working at a pharmacy or chemist.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent sense of initiative and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with support team and pharmacist.
  • To be well-organised and have great time management.
  • Willingness to travel from store to store along the coast of QLD.
  • Australian police check.
