Dental Assistant Role

As a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant, you will provide critical support to our dental clinicians and students in delivering exceptional oral health care. Your key responsibilities include assisting in clinical procedures, preparing dental materials, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of dental equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in complex clinical procedures such as restorations, extractions, and root canal treatments.
  • Prepare dental materials, including impression trays, alginate, and impression paste.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control, adhering to all relevant guidelines and protocols.
  • Clean and maintain dental equipment, including handpieces, ultrasonic devices, and suction units.

In addition to clinical support, you will also be responsible for reception duties such as greeting patients, managing appointments, and promoting a positive image of our organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated recent and adequate experience in chair-side dental assisting with or without Certificate III in dental assisting.
  • Ability to perform effective and efficient infection prevention and control procedures in all aspects of dental assisting.
  • Proficiency and accuracy in dental charting, including patient records and treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work effectively in a large, multidiscipline team environment.
