Job Description

This role requires a highly experienced and skilled professional to manage airport operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and cost-effective environment for passengers and crew. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in airport ground handling, preferably in a senior position, with a proven ability to lead teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse operational problems such as overbookings, weather conditions, delays, and cancellations to minimize disruptions and maintain high customer service levels.
  • Brief Handling Agents, caterers, and other service providers on Emirates' requirements for the day's operation, ensuring a smooth operation and avoiding unnecessary expenditure and inconvenience to passengers.
  • Control expenditure on damage baggage replacement and lost baggage claims, delegating where required to ensure effective processing and timely resolution.
  • Assist the Airport Services Manager in preparing and maintaining staff duty rosters and annual leave plans, optimizing staffing levels.
  • Undertake various administrative duties, attending meetings as directed, and ensuring Emirates' interests are represented.
  • Support Employee Regulation Programmes, conducting staff performance reviews, and guiding staff members to maintain customer service and other standards.
  • Manage and administer operational/supervisory activities on a shift basis, ensuring appropriate control of processes related to document and information consolidation.
  • Establish a regular reporting mechanism to monitor service delivery, KPIs, and ensure consistency across operations.
  • Promote a culture of safety, open reporting of deficiencies, human factor issues, and compliance with local laws to uphold safe and secure operations.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in airport ground handling, preferably in a senior position.
  • Completed relevant professional training courses, such as advanced courses in Passenger Services, Ground Operations, and Behavioural Skills.
  • A sound working knowledge of reservations/fares and ticketing, departure control systems (DCS), dangerous goods regulations, baggage tracing, and claims handling.
  • Advanced skills in customer service delivery, good interpersonal and effective cross-cultural communication skills.
  • High school level of education or equivalent.
Additional Requirements
  • This position requires a rotating shift roster, including weekends, public holidays, and early morning/night shifts.
  • The successful candidate must have the legal right to work and live in Australia unrestricted.

We offer a competitive remuneration package, including discounts on flights and hotel stays. Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
