Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the electrical design, project work and carry out Engineering studies including mentoring of the team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to join our Ventia Engineering Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical design and project work, including mentoring of the team.
  • Carry out engineering studies, including project management and layout drawings.
  • Use industry-leading software and an understanding of first principles and standards to complete power system calculations and modelling.
  • Develop and review technical project deliverables.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, clients, internal engineers, and project managers.

Requirements:

  • Australian Recognised Electrical Engineering qualifications (current RPEQ / CPEng certification, or the eligibility and willingness to obtain these).
  • Experience working in renewable energy, transmission or distribution sectors is highly desirable.
  • Proficient use of various computer packages, including Excel, Access & Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Project Management, Layout drawings – desirable.
  • Comfortable and familiar with the application of AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant design standards, statutory regulations, and Australian Standards.
