Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Formulation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and delivering new products to the market through planning and implementing development projects from concept through to full-scale production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Research and Trend Analysis: Identify innovative concepts and trends in the market that are relevant to the industry.
- Product Development: Develop new products following a brief, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Product Reformulation: Reformulate existing products while reducing costs, managing the entire process from conceptualization to full-scale production.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to provide insights on market trends and innovations, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Lab Operations: Prepare laboratory-scale batches for formulation, customer samples, and various tests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
- Stability and PET Testing: Conduct stability and PET tests to ensure products are in line with agreed specifications, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the testing process.
- Quality Assurance: Assess cosmetic packaging for quality, functionality, and stability to ensure product integrity.
- Scale-up and Pilot Batches: Oversee scale-up and pilot batches, recommending efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Manufacturing Support: Provide support to manufacturing for any troubleshooting and recommendations on how to fix out-of-product specifications.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related discipline.
- Experience: Experience in the development and formulation of cosmetics and personal care products.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards, and experience with SAP is beneficial.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, good time management skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
