The UGL Group is a leading international contractor, and we are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Tasmania.

About the Role

As a Project Manager with UGL, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects located in the North-West of Tasmania. These projects include the Ulverstone STP Upgrade, Smithton Sewage Pump Station Upgrade & Burnie RC Trunk Main Renewal. This role can be based out of Devonport or Launceston, with frequent travel to project sites required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning, executing, and finalising projects for delivery to clients
  • Managing project teams to accurately and timely deliver projects according to schedule, budget, and scope
  • Overseeing quality control throughout the project life cycle and ensuring that projects meet objectives and deliverables
  • Focusing on acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members to ensure client needs are delivered in a safe, timely, and efficient manner while maintaining a safe and effective operation of the project through sound communication, promotion of Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance, and sound business practices
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with extensive Project Management experience working on large infrastructure projects, preferably with water infrastructure experience. Relevant project management accreditation equivalent to Australian Institute Project Management (AIPM), PMBOK, Diploma, PMP, or equivalent is highly desirable. A strong understanding and knowledge of construction principles in a multi-discipline contracting environment are essential. Additionally, a high level of business and commercial acumen, backed by a sound ability to create, read, and interpret budgets, financial statements, and analyse variance reports, is required.

Civil Engineering Qualification and significant engineering experience throughout design, construction, and commissioning on Brownfields and Greenfields projects are also highly regarded. Strong communication skills, including negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to establish effective working relationships with various people at different levels both internally and externally, are crucial. Proficient skills in computers, including MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, are necessary.
