Job Description

The Medical Director of Medical Imaging will be responsible for leading the diagnostic imaging department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services that meet the needs of patients and clinicians. This role requires strong leadership and clinical governance skills, as well as the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic clinical leadership to ensure high-quality, evidence-based medical imaging services
  • Promote a culture that values high-quality clinical care, supports learning, and encourages reporting of errors
  • Develop strategic and operational plans for medical imaging that align with St Vincent's Health Australia's strategic plan
  • Be responsible for coordinating and developing the teaching of diagnostic imaging within the St Vincent's Hospital Clinical School, University of Melbourne Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Provide leadership and foster excellence in research
  • Work closely with academic colleagues to develop and implement a research strategy for the department
  • Actively manage individual and team performance to maximize performance and minimize workplace problems and conflict
  • Continuously seek individual and team improvement and take responsibility for introducing changes required to bring about improvements
  • Provide leadership in organizational issues and ensure that operational and financial performance targets are met
  • Ensure all staff behave professionally and in accordance with the SVHM Code of Conduct and undertake annual Workplace Culture and Equity Training
  • Identify and manage workplace risks and hazards and assist the return to work of any employee injured at work
