About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee maintenance of our fixed plant assets in South East Queensland, enabling efficient and safe operation. This role reports directly to the Asset Manager and supports our concrete plants across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing scopes of work, conducting tender processes, reviewing quotes, and awarding maintenance contracts to external providers.
  • Scheduling plant shutdowns for maintenance, aligning with operational and customer requirements.
  • Coordinating contractors, suppliers, and internal operations for scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
  • On-site supervision of medium to large-scale maintenance works.
  • Holding effective site toolbox meetings with contractors and internal staff undertaking maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with Boral's safety management system.
  • Monitoring and reviewing work quality.
  • Tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as unplanned plant breakdowns.
  • Collaborating with the Asset Manager to manage fixed plant maintenance costs.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Performing related work order administration and reporting tasks.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the concrete or manufacturing industries.
  • Mechanical trade or engineering qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience supervising/managing medium-sized maintenance works, including leading contractors.
  • A strong commitment to safety and a focus on maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo, Oracle eAM, etc).
