Job Title:

We're seeking a skilled Automation Specialist to join our team in Australia.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for championing safety in all aspects of automation work and ensuring compliance with site and company-wide standards. They will own the site's control systems and automation infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with Group standards and best practices.

The role involves scoping, developing, and implementing automation and controls strategies to improve production performance. The Automation Specialist will partner with cross-functional teams to develop and embed reliability plans, supporting real-time issue resolution and breakdown rectification to keep operations running smoothly.

To achieve this, the Automation Specialist must stay across emerging automation technologies and equipment, acting as the SME for our preferred platforms. They will also help embed Supply Chain Operations Systems (TPM, KATA), manage the automation budget, and build site capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a Certificate 3 in Electrotechnology.
  • Solid experience working in an automation or controls engineering role, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, SCADA, PLCs (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell), and automation standards.
  • Proven skills in process improvement, project management, and implementing reliability strategies.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to bring people along for the ride as you lead change and build capability.
