Category Manager Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing the Mechanical category, with a focus on strategic sourcing and procurement of key mechanical manufacturing components. The Category Manager will lead category strategy, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage sourcing, negotiation, and contracts for mechanical component categories.
  • Drive cost reduction, sustainability, and supplier performance initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams.
  • Support transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and category process improvements.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency supply plans.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of new product launches.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (GMP/medical/pharma).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies (e.g., injection moulding, metal forming, die casting, PCB assembly).
