Senior Construction Professional for Complex Projects

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our construction projects in Newcastle NSW.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex projects and possess strong commercial acumen, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming / planning experience (MS Project) as well as running meetings with consultants and subcontractors.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create comprehensive project programmes and communicate effectively to the team.
  • Ensure construction programmes are followed and deliver on project quality to programme.
  • Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required.
  • Manage project expenditure and cash flow.
  • Management and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projects.
  • Design management.
  • Manage subcontractors on site.
  • Manage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the project.
  • Produce progress reports.
  • Deliver and manage client expectations.

About the Project:

The project will involve a heavy refurbishment circa $6m+ and requires roof replacement experience or having delivered new build projects prior. Subsequent projects could be refurbishments, repairs, remediation, demolition and upgrade projects valued from smaller to $10 million +.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualifications an advantage.

Skills:

Strong commercial acumen and contracts management skills.Excellent design management and OHS skills.Proficient in MS Project.Able to run effective meetings with consultants and subcontractors.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in Newcastle NSW and requires frequent travel to project sites.
