French Culinary Apprentice

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our culinary team as an apprentice in the art of classical French cuisine. This role is ideal for those who aspire to learn traditional and modern French cooking techniques, gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of French dishes.
  • Learn classical French techniques such as sauces, stocks, patisserie.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and workstation cleanliness.
  • Assist with receiving and storing fresh produce, specialty French ingredients, and wines.
  • Follow recipes and plating standards to maintain consistency in fine dining service.
  • Participate in training, menu tastings, and regular skill assessments as part of the apprenticeship program.

Requirements:

  • Passion for French cuisine and fine dining.
  • Commitment to learning classical cooking techniques and culinary theory.
  • Strong attention to detail, presentation, and flavour.
  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a kitchen brigade.
  • Punctual, reliable, and committed to completing apprenticeship training.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in line with restaurant service.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • No prior professional kitchen experience required, but a keen interest in French gastronomy is essential.
  • Any prior exposure to a hospitality or fine-dining environment will be advantageous.
  • To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be a citizen of the country where the program is located.
