Project Lead for Automation and Process Control Systems

We are seeking a skilled and driven professional to lead the delivery of automation and control system projects in highly regulated manufacturing environments. This is an excellent opportunity to work across high-impact projects in pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, and process manufacturing, with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and operational efficiency.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle—from planning and procurement through to commissioning and handover. Key responsibilities include leading the planning, coordination, and execution of automation and process control projects, as well as managing project scope, budgets, timelines, and risk across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Manage cross-functional teams including controls engineers, validation teams, IT, and production.
  • Oversee the design, integration, installation, commissioning, and validation of control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS).
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GAMP5, and applicable regulatory requirements for system validation and documentation.
  • Drive stakeholder communication, reporting, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors, including procurement, scheduling, and performance oversight.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing automation or process control projects in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • A strong understanding of PLC, SCADA, DCS, and batch control systems.
  • Solid knowledge of project management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with industry standards: GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, ISA-88/95.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
