About the Role

Thomson Geer, a leading Australian corporate law firm, is seeking a skilled Lawyer to join its corporate team in Melbourne. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with experienced Partners who specialize in various areas of corporate law, including M&A transactions, equity capital markets, corporate advisory, joint ventures, commercial arrangements, restructures, and general commercial and corporate contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide sound, pragmatic, and innovative legal advice to the firm's corporate clients.
  2. Assist in reviewing and drafting contracts, as well as conducting legal due diligence.
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their commercial needs and objectives.
  4. Contribute to the firm's growth and success by identifying opportunities for business development and client engagement.
  5. Collaborate with the team to achieve business objectives and deliver high-quality results.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  1. Solid experience in M&A transactions and corporate advisory, preferably in a mid-market focus.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  3. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  4. A willingness to learn and develop as a client-focused practitioner.
  5. A strong academic background, with a degree in law.
