Rail Safeworking Specialist

The Midland Station Cale Street Project is a collaborative effort between the Midland Junction Alliance (MJA) and the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA), McConnell Dowell Pty Limited, Georgiou Group Pty Limited, BG&E, and Arcadis. The project aims to deliver exceptional results through a design and construct approach, including the construction of a new train station, actively protected at-grade level crossing, multi-storey car park, bus station, and rail track alignment.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Track Protection Officer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. As a Track Protection Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing rail safeworking rules and procedures within the PTA and Arc infrastructure rail networks. You will work closely with client representatives to ensure that works in the rail corridor are done safely and do not impact day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate the consistent application and implementation of PTA Safeworking Rules and Procedures and Arc Infrastructure Network Rules.
- Assist in planning and implementing protection arrangements for complex possessions.
- Apply Safeworking rules and/or protection to workgroups within the rail network.
- Complete risk assessments and conduct pre-work briefings with site personnel.
- Maintain positive relationships with client representatives.
- Promote the Alliance Charter, including Our Values, Vision, Mission, and Key Result Areas.
- Comply with Safety and Environmental Responsibilities specific to Alliance Management Plan and promote the highest Health and Safety Standards.
- Current C-class driver's license.
- Construction industry white card.
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card with PTA track accreditation.
- Track Access Permit (TAP) card with Arc Infrastructure track accreditation.
- Ability to pass Cat 1 medical.
- Proven experience in providing rail safeworking protection for a workgroup in the form of a Work on Track Authority.
- Strong and clear communication skills, written and verbal.
- Able to work weekends and nightshifts when required.
