Job Description

Telecommunications Officer - Data Focus

This is a 3-month fixed term, full-time position commencing as soon as possible with possible extension. The role involves coordinating the provision of data services for the Department and its customers, as well as the inspection and assessment of new and refurbished buildings in schools.

The Telecommunications Officer Voice Data Mobile – Data Focus is responsible for delivering Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services that support the Department's educational outcomes. This includes developing initiatives and technical support strategies to ensure all Western Australian public schools can be individual, distinctive and responsive to their local communities while still benefiting from being part of a system.

The successful candidate will have sound technical knowledge, including industry standards, best practice and network infrastructure, and experience in providing telecommunications data services in a large, diverse organisation. They will also need to be able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders when providing the installation of data services.
