The City of Launceston is seeking a collaborative and relationship-focused leader to join their team as a Senior Leader Parks. Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure and Assets, this role is responsible for the development of strategic plans and management of parks and sustainability-related infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for parks, sports, and recreational facilities, open space, and reserves, waste management, and sustainability.
- Asset Management: Manage and develop service levels, policies, procedures, and practices related to the various areas of the portfolio.
- Risk Management: Provide risk management guidance and leadership to the team.
- Project Management: Undertake projects as requested by the General Manager relating to infrastructure, assets, sustainability, waste, and green assets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure proactive and constructive advice and communication is provided to all internal and external stakeholders, including the community.
- Emergency Management: Undertake emergency management responsibility in conjunction with the General Manager when required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering, recreation, environmental, or a similar discipline.
- Substantial experience in asset management and related strategic planning.
- Experience managing budgets, service levels, and delivery.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder relationship skills.
- A demonstrable track record of success in a similar role.
