About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Lawyer to join our team at ClearCompany. As a key member of our Legal Team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality legal advice and services to support the Commission's functions and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the Commission on a range of matters, including investigations, litigation, and policy development.
  • Work collaboratively with investigators, analysts, and other stakeholders to plan and conduct investigations, and to prepare reports and briefs.
  • Represent the Commission in public examinations, hearings, and other proceedings, and provide expert testimony as required.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Commission's functions, powers, and responsibilities, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in the law and regulatory environment, and provide advice and guidance to the Commission on emerging issues and trends.
Requirements
  • Admission as a practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.
  • Eligibility to hold a restricted ACT practising certificate.
  • At least five years' post-qualification experience in a relevant field, preferably in a regulatory or law enforcement environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in criminal law, administrative law, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
