Biological Pest Control Specialist

Tasmania's unique environment and agricultural industries require vigilant protection against invasive pests and diseases. We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team as Biological Pest Control Specialists, playing a crucial role in safeguarding the state's borders.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough inspections, surveillance, control, and eradication activities to prevent biosecurity breaches.
- Collect and record data during operational activities to inform decision-making.
- Investigate suspected non-compliance and conduct enforcement activities to maintain regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with supportive teams to deliver effective biosecurity responses and animal welfare initiatives.
This critical role involves identifying and mitigating biosecurity risks, ensuring the safety of Tasmania's environment and industries. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement strategies for pest control and management.
Requirements:- Obtain satisfactory security clearance as required by Port Authorities.
- Hold a Certificate III or IV qualification in plant health, animal health, land management, or invasive species management, biosecurity emergency management, government investigations, or statutory compliance.
- Australian citizenship is highly desirable.
