About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our catering team at SummitCare's Waverley home. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for a large group, ensuring variety and nutritional balance
  • Manage food safety and hygiene practices, adhering to SummitCare's Food Safety Program
  • Collaborate with Speech Pathology team to ensure meal planning meets resident needs
  • Oversee kitchen inventory and storage, maintaining efficient and organized systems
  • Ensure effective communication with kitchen staff, residents, and other stakeholders
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to feedback and concerns in a professional manner
Requirements
  • Current Criminal Record Check
  • Certificate III or IV in Hospitality/Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Cook role within Aged Care/Commercial kitchen environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, respecting cultural diversity
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP guidelines and food safety practices
  • Experience in cooking for diverse dietary needs and requirements
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate kitchen staff
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
