Senior Project Cost Controller

Mills Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Cost Controller to join a reputable project management and engineering firm. Our client excels in delivering exceptional services in the resources and infrastructure sectors, with a proven track record in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize advanced MS Excel skills to interpret, transform, and compare large datasets, ensuring accurate reconciliation of hours and costs aligned to activity coding.
- Review and coordinate invoicing with the finance department to maintain accurate project financials.
- Familiarity with BHP and Rio Tinto processes and procedures is essential.
- Mentor and train junior project control team members, ensuring their work aligns with the company's project control standards.
- Ensure adherence to project control processes throughout the project lifecycle, including setup, reporting, change management, and progress claims.
- Collaborate with the Project Management team to prepare comprehensive project reports, with a strong understanding of earned value progress, cost control, and schedule review.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail while working within a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to learn and utilize the in-house project controls software (ProjectController).
- Perform additional ad-hoc duties as required by the Project Management and Project Controls teams.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Project Controls role, ideally within engineering and design projects.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage cost claims, variations, and reporting across multiple Project Managers.
- Previous experience with small to large-scale projects across various sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively.
- Availability for a 12+ month contract, based in Perth CBD.
