About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Strategic Development Planner to join our team at Penrith City Council. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with a tertiary qualification in Planning or a relevant field, to contribute to the assessment of development proposals and provide customer service.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing development applications, providing planning advice and guidance, and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders. In this role, you will gain valuable experience and contribute to the provision of high-quality services to our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess development applications to ensure compliance with local and state government regulations;
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on planning matters to residents, developers, and other stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve quality and sustainable development outcomes;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

A tertiary qualification (or nearing completion) in Planning or a relevant field;Practical experience in the assessment of development applications or a related field;Proven ability to provide customer service and planning advice and guidance;Current Class C Driver's Licence;Previous Local Government experience is highly desirable;
