Today, we provide a full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services, as well as tertiary and quaternary care for critically ill and medically complex patients from Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas.

As a Quality Assurance Specialist at RCH, you will play a critical role in driving quality and safety across our organisation. You will be responsible for leading and supporting divisional teams to implement, embed and exceed minimal requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards.
You will work closely with our Associate Director Quality and drive oversight, leadership and improvement opportunities to various committees that support high-quality safe care at RCH.
This includes committees that support our efforts in meeting the requirements of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and the eight NSQHS standards, as well as preparing local areas for short notice accreditation.
About the Role
This is a permanent part-time position, working 60.8 hours per fortnight within our Quality Department. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will contribute to RCH quality systems to support the Operational Excellence - Clinical Governance Framework.
You will also foster collegiate relationships with external stakeholders and work collaboratively with divisional partners to ensure high-quality, safe care.
Your Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field or significant relevant industry experience.
- Proven leadership experience in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team member.
- Proven experience in reviewing adverse patient safety events and developing systems to support patient safety.

About the Department
The RCH Quality team is dynamic and collaborative, supporting patient safety, patient experience and clinical excellence systems and processes across the health service. We support clinical governance processes, coordinate accreditation against the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards and provide expert advice to staff on matters relating to patient safety and patient experience.
Estimated Salary: $111,103 - $121,274 per annum (plus superannuation).
