Job Title: Financial Strategist

This is a challenging role that requires driving positive commercial outcomes and strategic analysis. As a Financial Strategist, you will partner with business units to drive process improvements in capital planning and maintenance forecasting.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with technical, commercial, and planning teams to optimize Cap Maintenance Spend on an annual basis.
  • Identify and develop initiatives to enhance process efficiency, performance, and value of reporting mechanisms.
  • Support development of business cases and provide critical input and commercial analysis for strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure through-life costs of assets are maximized from entry into service, operations, and disposal.
  • Performance reporting, linking financial and non-financial key performance indicators, and communicating results to stakeholders to inform strategic priorities.
  • Identify key performance gaps through analysis against business drivers (customer, operations, financial).

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Business, or other relevant discipline.
  • Extensive financial knowledge and experience.
  • Process redesign and automation experience would be advantageous.
  • Superior communication and influencing skills.
  • Intellectual capability to quickly understand, apply, and embed new concepts in a complex business environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency, focus on outcomes, and drive for success.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and lead to successful business outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize conflicting objectives to deliver key milestones.
  • Demonstrated analytical, financial, and/or problem-solving skills.
  • Emotional intelligence and maturity.
  • Strategic planning mindset and a restless curiosity for process improvements.
