About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our team at Blackwater Mine. As a Heavy Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance on our large fleet of heavy equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, graders, and dozers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, graders, and dozers
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy equipment
- Work effectively with the maintenance team to ensure equipment is available for operation
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
Requirements
- Relevant diesel fitter or heavy vehicle trade qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Proven experience with 789 and 930E-4 Trucks along with 600 and 800T Caterpillar, Hitachi, and O&K Excavators
- High levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
- Safety focus with a high attention to detail
- Excellent work planning and scheduling skills
- Current and valid drivers license
- Standard 11 would be advantageous
