Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity for freight train drivers to take on new responsibilities and contribute to the success of our railroad.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with freight haulage tasks in accordance with established procedures and policies.
  • Prepare and provision locomotives and wagons for train operations by following standardized protocols.
  • Perform minor fault repairs and failure rectifications in-field, ensuring safe and effective operational systems.
  • Undertake maintenance tasks and assist rolling-stock maintainers to validate the integrity of rolling stock, including brakes.
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and safety.
  • Ensure a commitment to established processes and management of risks, with the objective of zero injuries.
Requirements
  • Current or previous NSW Safeworking Qualifications.
  • Evidence of route qualifications/experience.
  • Category 1 Rail Safety Workers Medical, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.
  • A high level of literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills.
  • A commitment to a safety culture, and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Professionalism, integrity, reliability, and a positive work ethic.
