Procurement Specialist for Major Infrastructure Project

This is a key role within the project team, responsible for coordinating and administering procurement activities.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing complex procurements, including developing tender invitations, conducting commercial negotiations, and preparing contracts.

They will also be skilled in analyzing proposals, evaluating vendors, and negotiating agreements to achieve the best outcomes for the project.

In this position, you will work closely with the project management team to ensure that procurement activities align with the project's goals and objectives.

Additionally, you will maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and other project teams.

  • Coordinate and administer procurement activities, including tendering, contracting, and contract administration.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the project's needs.
  • Manage and analyze tenders, proposals, and quotations to select the most suitable suppliers.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with project requirements and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop and implement procurement plans and strategies.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of procurement principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in managing complex procurements, including tendering and contract administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate proposals and negotiate agreements.
  • A high level of initiative and self-motivation to work independently and as part of a team.

Relevant tertiary qualifications and previous professional experience in procurement are highly desirable.
