We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Employment Legal Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic legal advice and representation to the Group across the full range of employment, safety, and discrimination legal matters.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Human Resources (HR) and Business Units to support our people strategies and ensure legal risks and matters are appropriately recognised and managed.
- Deliver high-value legal advice and representation to the Group, including managing employee-related litigation and advising on the legislative and industrial framework.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Group's legal and regulatory risk appetite and align your role to support the successful implementation of the Group's strategic priorities and goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop solutions in all employment-related matters, from innovative employee benefits to employment-related litigation.
- 7+ years of relevant post-admission experience, including at least 3 years specialising in Employment law.
- Tertiary qualifications in Law and admitted to practice in NSW or another State or Territory.
- Demonstrated deep understanding of the legal and regulatory framework relating to Employment, Discrimination, and Safety law.
- Advocacy experience in the Fair Work Commission or other relevant Tribunal(s).
- Strong negotiation skills and experience, including in resolving litigious matters.
- Sound judgment to balance legal, commercial, and customer considerations.
- Excellent legal technical skills, including the ability to quickly grasp, communicate, negotiate, and resolve issues across a range of employment-related matters.
