Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Perioperative Services Technician to join our dynamic perioperative team on either a full-time or part-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in our Central Sterilising Department (CSD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontamination and Sterilisation: You will be responsible for the decontamination and sterilisation of all instrumentation for theatre and external clinical areas, ensuring compliance with AS/NZ standards 5369 (2024) and GENCA guidelines.
  • Endoscope Reprocessing: You will reprocess endoscopes within our endoscopy cleaning gallay as required, adhering to strict protocols to maintain the highest standards of infection control.
  • Machinery Operation and Maintenance: You will operate, interpret, and document all machinery operational requirements, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Certificate III in Sterilising: This qualification is essential for the position.
  • Experience in Central Sterilising Services: Prior experience working in a CSD environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of AS/NZ 5369 (2024) and GENCA Guidelines: You must have a sound understanding of these regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, communicating effectively to ensure seamless workflow and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Organisational and Time Management Skills: You will prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records to meet deadlines.
