Your Role in Our Team

As a skilled Maintenance Fitter at our Primary Processing Plant, you will be a vital member of our Maintenance team. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional maintenance and repair services for our equipment, focusing on preventative measures to ensure optimal production levels and engineering support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promptly addressing repairs and breakdowns of production machinery
  • Minimizing reactive maintenance and enhancing unplanned downtime
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of maintenance programs for internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality assurance in all maintenance activities
  • Identifying and reporting on Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality concerns, hazards, and risks
  • Taking personal responsibility for the humane treatment of livestock

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recognized Mechanical Trades qualification in Australia
  • Experience in servicing, repairing, and maintaining various types of equipment, particularly in an industrial manufacturing setting, ideally within the food processing sector
  • Strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety practices
  • Proficient in fault diagnosis of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Experience in both breakdown and preventive maintenance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating effectively
  • Strong attention to detail, information processing, and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with Maximo as a CMMS is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
