Lead Clinician Role

We provide support services for individuals in need.

Our approach is based on evidence and practice wisdom.

The Lead Clinician plays a key role in leading clinical responses, assessment and intervention, and supporting integrated care planning for individuals with complex mental health and substance use needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver interventions, including assessment, care planning, counselling, harm minimisation and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Support individuals to reduce the harms associated with alcohol and other drug use.
  • Promote recovery, resilience, and improved mental health outcomes through collaborative and culturally safe practices.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of integrated care pathways.
  • Work in partnership with local health, community, and social services to ensure coordinated care.
  • Build capacity within the team by sharing expertise, delivering training, contributing to reflective practice, and supporting the integration of approaches across roles.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certificate IV in AOD or equivalent, or willingness to complete studies during employment.
  • Proven experience conducting assessments, case management, and developing treatment plans for clients with complex needs.
  • Proven clinical experience to apply evidence-based therapies and interventions, with a robust understanding of theoretical concepts in Mental Health and AOD sciences.
