About the Role

Townsville Catholic Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cleaner - Operations Assistant to join our team. This is a Term Time, Fixed-Term position completing 38 hours of work per week for the duration of the 2024 School Year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the school by providing a high level of cleanliness to the facilities.
  • Work within a team to provide a clean, safe and pleasant environment for students and employees.
  • Perform a range of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, polishers and blowers.
  • Collect litter, empty and wash rubbish bins.
  • Remove graffiti from desks, chairs and walls.
  • Clean windows, fans, fridges, stoves, toilets, sinks and basins.
  • Sweep, blow and hose/pressure clean paved areas.
  • Lock up rooms, including windows, doors and turning off lights.

Requirements

  • Recent experience in a cleaning or services role.
  • Understanding and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety legislation and professional regulations.
  • Ability to follow safety precautions and use protective equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple tasks.

  • Competitive Annual Salary starting: $60,070 - $61,985 per annum pro rata pending experience + Super ($ $31.26 per hour)
