About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Engineering Team at Pepperstone EU Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the design, development, and maintenance of cloud reliability processes, systems, and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of processes and standards that promote reliability and recoverability, including incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Deliver technology and practices for observability within the business, including monitoring and alerting to report on systems capacity and measure service reliability over time.
  • Assist engineering teams with building observable systems, help teams craft service level objectives.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting of live production systems as incident managers, facilitating the response to emergencies and assisting engineering with recovery operations.
  • Assist engineering teams by providing guidance and training on a 24x7 support capability, and the practical application of incident triage and recovery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud solutions that provide resilient, scalable, and reliable architectures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and train them on cloud technologies, site reliability practices, and tools.
  • Stay up to date with cloud industry trends, technologies, and market changes.
About You
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a site reliability engineer role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present to and influence different levels of stakeholders.
  • Experience with build and release pipelines, Blue/Green deployment, infrastructure as code (Terraform).
  • Experience in managing cloud architectures, applications, and services.
  • Working knowledge of AWS and relevant cloud technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation, orchestration, and container technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of observability and monitoring tools for distributed systems/application architecture.
  • Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and alerting processes and systems, SumoLogic and PagerDuty preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve problems in distributed cloud environments.
