Field Assistant Job SummaryThis role plays a crucial part in the success of our Raw Procurement division by providing vital support and coordination.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with annual crop planting and harvesting plans for sweet corn and brassica (e.g., broccoli / cauliflower) raw materials.
- Manage contract growing operations in conjunction with the Sweet Corn Specialist, ensuring seamless collaboration between Simplot and contract growers.
- Act as the primary point of contact between Simplot and contract growers, fostering open communication and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Assist in developing the annual planting schedule in close cooperation with contract growers, guaranteeing optimal crop growth and yields.
- Collaborate with the team to develop an annual harvest plan that aligns with manufacturing activities, ensuring timely and efficient production.
- Provide expert advice on best practices to growers on cropping solutions, driving innovation and improvement in their operations.
- Regularly visit growing operations and manufacturing facilities to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback.
- Communicate regularly with the wider Raw Procurement team through reports and updates on cropping data, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and implementing changes to drive efficiency and productivity.
