In this role as an Australia-based FIFO Project Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring all electrical control equipment and systems, including plant automation, SCADA, electrical protection, and communication systems at major project sites are installed, maintained, and performing as required.

This is a field-based position focusing on delivering planned maintenance programs to ensure reliable and safe asset operation. Activities include:

  • Coordinating and undertaking a range of maintenance activities within defined operating procedures.
  • Conducting safety inspections and complying with Aggreko's safety regulations.
  • Providing first-level technical advice to customers.
  • Resolving/troubleshooting implementation problems.

This role is ideal for entry-level professionals or highly experienced operations/technical/support roles. You will typically have completed higher education/qualification or require expert technical operational knowledge of procedures & tools obtained through extensive work experience.

This skilled application requires well-experienced individuals who can take the lead. You will have a broad range of work activities and be the first point of escalation for non-routine situations. Significant personal autonomy and ability to confidently guide the work of others. Holding appropriate letters of electrical authorization and working across both mechanical and electrical equipment aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to major mechanical component failure escalations.
  • Carry out major component changes and field repairs.
  • Carry out advanced troubleshooting of engines and electrical LV or HV systems.
  • Implementation of field campaigns as required.
  • Provide hands-on mechanical and electrical support.
  • Evaluate the completion of major repairs to ensure they are on time, to standard, and within agreed budgets for both specific repairs and overall department budgets.
  • Advanced Commissioning of multi-MW projects or complex applications outside of the standard/norm.
  • HV/EHV Commissioning.

Typical Experience:

  • Specialised Diploma/Vocational Training.
  • Electrician's license (A Grade) is ideal.

We offer a competitive salary package and comprehensive benefits. The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 AUD based on location and experience.
