The School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW Australia is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join their research team. This role offers the chance to enhance your research skills by working on specific projects related to blast furnace modelling.

Your research will focus on CFD-DEM modelling of low-carbon blast furnace ironmaking, providing you with a unique opportunity to develop your scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally.

This position involves undertaking high-quality academic research, conducting independent research with limited supervision, and contributing to the writing of scientific papers and reports for international journals.

You will have the opportunity to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships with colleagues and industry partners.

To be successful in this role, you will need a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related area, as well as relevant work experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting independent research on CFD-DEM modelling of low-carbon blast furnace ironmaking
  • Developing and implementing research projects in collaboration with the research team
  • Writing and publishing research papers and reports in international journals
  • Participating in conferences and workshops to present research findings

A key aspect of this role is your ability to communicate complex research ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
